Yokohama

The three of us were able to catch an Oktoberfest in Yokohama! Japan loves its beer, and it's always up for hosting any reason to drink! They had some amazing brews, including pineapple ale, peach ale, and sweet vanilla stout. Yum!! We took a ride in the ferris wheel in one of the glass cages! It was so cool being able to look directly under you while you rode. We also visited the Cup of Noodles museum, which displays the history of instant ramen. You get to create your own custom cup of noodles! We ate them the next day and they were really good!

The very first pack of instant ramen ever made in 1958!

My cup!

My delicious flight!

Cat Cafe

We finally got to visit a cat cafe!!! It's been on our to do list for months. It was amazing! They had the cafe decorated up for Halloween, and a few of the cats had costumes on! They had unlimited refreshments that you could drink as you hung out with the cats. They had a great variety of breeds (even a calico munchkin!) and they were soooo beautiful and playful. We will definitely be going back!

Nagoya

We spent a day and a half in Nagoya. It's about a 5 hour drive away, but we got to see plenty of countryside on the way. We visited the Tokugawa Art Museum, and Okazaki Castle, which is where Tokugawa was born in the 1500s. Bruce got to experience his first shinto shrine!

I loved this turtle statue!

Friends!!

One of our best friends came all the way from Kentucky to visit us!! We had soooo much fun, and went hard at it for 8 straight days! We explored Tokyo, Yokohama, Yokosuka, Nagoya, Mt. Fuji, and Kamakura. He is now a HUGE fan of ramen and yakitori, and was absolutely enchanted by Nagoya and Mt. Fuji (who isn't??). It was the best week we've had in a long time!

A cafe at the airport had packaged lemon juice. Amazing.

The airport had an observation deck where you can watch the planes.
We got to see our friend's plane touch down!

The boys playing their taiko drum game!

I'm ready for Halloween!

Back at Mt. Fuji

Got to return to Mt. Fuji, one of our favorite places! We got there later in the day, so we watched the sunset on the mountain. It was gorgeous! The white "ocean" you see in the photos isn't hills, it's a sea of clouds! We were sitting just above the clouds, and they blanketed everything except the sunset and the summit of Fuji.

A wild Joey appeared on Fuji! She was an aggressive specimen!
