Last week, a friend and I went beach combing in an area known as Glass Beach. This beach has a higher than normal amount of beach glass, and trillions of shells and other interesting things. There is also a large amount of broken Japanese pottery pieces, mostly blue and white, that have been smoothed by the ocean. I found my very first sea urchin and most of the spines were broken off. The beach was covered with washed up urchins and the crows were having a field day eating them.
