New Beginnings

My husband and I are small town folk. Raised in rural Kentucky, we have built our lives from nearly nothing, and are paving the way to experience life to its fullest. We have traveled quite a bit already, but our first large adventure as a married couple is taking us to Japan. Neither of us have been there before, so it is hard telling what we may see and do.

Our lives are about to change drastically, but for the better. Life is all about grand adventures! My husband, Jonathan, has left his job as a band director to pursue bigger dreams of playing his tuba for a living. This has opened a doorway for us to travel the world - our first stop being the orient. We are keeping busy these days by wrapping up loose ends and saying our goodbyes. I will be leaving my job as a funeral director, and am hopeful to pick up work along the way.

Coming with us will be our little rat terrier, Toby. He just turned 7 years old this month, but it's never too late to start traveling! The paperwork involved in getting him into Japan is utterly mind boggling, and is so lengthy that he will not be able to join us until we are over there for a few months (several shots must be spaced out and they will not be complete until after our departure date). Luckily our awesome mothers will see that they are completed and will take him to the airport when he is ready to leave.

We have started a Must Do list for our stay in Japan, and are very determined to check off every single thing! While we are on the other side of the planet, our goals also include hopping over to Australia, Fiji, and wherever else we can. Life is short - gotta see it all!
